I know I’m long overdue for an update on what’s going on with Boost Hockey behind the scenes.
And I also know that I’ve been hinting at a huge announcement for the past few months. Well, thankfully, the time has come to reveal the next chapter for Boost Hockey.
On Monday, 5/14/18, we’ll be launching a premium Boost Hockey Membership.
While I don’t want to give away all the details yet, I will tell you that I’ve been working for the past few months to create the best content I’ve ever put out. All about things that will help hockey players become the best they can be.
It’s crazy for me to think that in the last ten months, I went from launching a side passion project to a group of family, friends, and acquaintances to now being a part of a community of over 8,500 hockey minded people. It’s truly amazing and I’m so thankful to be a part of it.
Since my last update, I’ve also quit my full time, salaried, job and decided to go all in with Boost Hockey.
While change is scary, I also felt it was important to continue to practice what I preach.
If you want to be successful, you have to first figure out what you want and then decide how hard you’re willing to work at it to make it happen.
I’ve always wanted to work solely for myself, but I always seemed to find an excuse or a justification why it wasn’t the right time.
There were a couple things that kept running through my head that ultimately helped push me through that mental barrier and make the change.
- Nothing ever changes if you don’t do anything different. You could also use the definition of insanity for this… If you want things to be different, you have to be willing to take action and make a change.
- The only way to grow is to continually push your limits. To be honest, I was becoming comfortable. I was stuck in the routine of comfort. I needed to push myself and grow.
- Not to be morbid, but this is actually something I think about quite often… If I only had a few months left to live would I be happy and proud of the work I was doing. The answer was an emphatic NO (to my former full time job). In fact, I know that I would have regretted not going after what I really want. And if there’s any advice I can give to anyone, myself included, it’s that I don’t want to waste a day and I don’t want to have regrets.
So while I know this isn’t a typical blog post, I hope that you can still get something out of reading this. I hope this makes you analyze your own life, or your own hockey career, and really think about what it is that you want.
Then, once you know what you want, I want you to really think about how hard you’re willing to work to go after it. Are you willing to take a chance and put yourself out there in order to get what you want?
I not only have a financial responsibility to my wife and kids, but I also have an unwavering desire to grow as a man and succeed. I’m confident in my abilities to create something great and make an impact. I know there will be trials and obstacles along the way, but I’m all in.
Now, one last thing that I wanted to bring up in this post is this blog. While I am excited about launching and growing the Boost Hockey Membership, I am not going to turn my back on this blog.
While I have to be realistic about the time commitments that I am undertaking, I'm also not willing to turn my back to the one thing that got everything started, this blog.
I will continue to post completely FREE content to this blog once a week. At this time, I have not decided which day I will post the content and might try a few different days to see what seems to get the best traction. But regardless, I am committed to giving you guys everything that I have and I can’t thank you enough for the support.
Thanks for sharing your passion for the best game on earth and for being a part of this community.
