Movember Personal Challenge
As if things in my life aren't busy or crazy enough right now, I decided to add one more item to the list.
With the month of November starting yesterday, I actually got a jump start on this whole new personal challenge yesterday, but decided to post all the details in this blog post.
I'm sure by now everyone is familiar with what Movember is. But if for some reason you aren't sure, it's a movement that started a few years back to support men's health. It started by participants growing a mustache to show support and has since evolved to include things like a movement challenge.
The actual Movember Foundation is the only charity tackling men's health issues on a global scale. The area's that they focus on most are prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
So for the month of November I am taking on the movement challenge. I am putting myself on the line to complete at least 100 miles of activity throughout the whole month. I am going to sync up my watch and make a link that I will share with everyone just to prove that I'm holding true to my end of the bargain.
Regretfully, I will not be growing a muzzy this November for a few reasons. The main reason is that I can't grow facial hair worth a damn and it would be an embarrassment to men across the world with my poor facial hair efforts. The other reason is that my wife said "absolutely not"... but I'm going to stick with my reason of not being able to grow facial hair...
Because facial hair and hockey players go together hand in hand, I am excited to get this all started. So I set a goal of raising at least $500 to support this cause.
Our newest campaign shirt, "GROW YOUR MUZZY" will donate 15% of every shirt sold towards that $500 goal (in reality I hope we can donate more than $500).
While this may be a crazy time in my life (my wife is literally going to be giving birth any day now) I am excited about taking on the challenge for such an awesome cause. And I challenge anyone reading this to join this cause and challenge yourself. Whether that's through a fitness challenge like myself, or through growing the most epic muzzy of you life, or both. Regardless, we all are capable of so much, so let's get behind this cause and make it a November to remember.
Lastly, if anyone would like to partake in this challenge with me and wants to join my team, just send me an email and I can send you a link to get signed up on the Boost Hockey team.
